Butterflying trip to Delawadi

Took a trip today to Delawadi jungle camp for a butterflying trip in the Ratapani Forest sanctuary. It is an open forest with lots of bamboos trees, hardly any wildlife and badly maintained roads !.  Forest department has a nature interpretation centre at the Jungle Camp, an MP Tourism property at the forest area. Forest department takes Rs 400.00 as an entry fee with Rs 150.00 for guide for visiting the forest sanctuary.  Neither department officials at the nature interpretation centre and neither the guide know anything about flora and fauna in the forest except showing spots of tourist interest !. Inspite of the fact that this is an eco tourism site.

But since I was to site butterflies, ones which I could site are as follows –
1.       Common Grass Yellow
2.       Common sailer
3.       Common Emigrant
4.       Baronet
5.       Lime butterfly
6.       Danidfly
7.       Chocolate pansy
8.       Lemon pansy
9.       Common crow
Sailer, common grass yellow, emigrants at the Jungle camp while similarly common grass yellow, common crow at Badi Amkoh, the fossil area while emigrants, baronet, sailer, chocolate pansy and lemon pansy on the way towards Bawari.  Danidfly and lime butterfly were sited near the dhobi ghat. Interestingly on the way occasionally one could also see cobwebs lined with hanging spiders.
