Lime Butterfly

Common swallowtail butterfly, the one in picture and is called ‘Lime Butterfly’ or Papilio demoleus. Unlike swallowtails it does not have prominent tail. Wikipedia says that it gets its name from its host plants which are usually citrus species such as the lime. It is fond of flowers like citrus, radish and curry leaf.

A quick flier, this was photographed at Jeewan Vatika opposite Manav Saghralaya in Bhopal. Picture is of old specimen as brightness has shaded away.
